Synchronized Implementation Workshop on Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373

DANUBE FAB partners organized a workshop on the synchronized implementation of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373 of 1 March 2017 laying down common requirements for providers of air traffic management/air navigation services and other air traffic management network functions and their oversight, repealing Regulation (EC) No 482/2008, Implementing Regulations (EU) No 1034/2011, (EU) No 1035/2011 and (EU) 2016/1377 and amending Regulation (EU) No 677/2011. The workshop was hosted by BULATSA on 1-3 October 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Eleventh meetings of the DANUBE FAB Governing Bodies

The DANUBE FAB Governing Bodies held their eleventh meetings on 21st and 22nd of May 2018 in Bucharest, Romania. The parties discussed on the ATM/ANS service provision related strategic FAB prospects for the next 5 years’ planning cycle, the status of DANUBE FAB procurements, operational activities (e.g. SEEN FRA, seasonal FRA in the Bulgarian airspace, SEEN FRA extension to 24H, LoAs, etc), so as on future technical projects, such as the assessment of the use of space-based ADS-B capabilities in DANUBE FAB.

Space-Based ADS-B Development Workshop

ROMATSA hosted in Bucharest, Romania, on the 3rd of May 2018, a Space-based ADS-B Workshop with its DANUBE FAB partner, BULATSA and with Aireon. The workshop was a good opportunity for ROMATSA and BULATSA to get first hand input, work progress status and critical operational insight from Aireon, as it is already deploying its space global Air Traffic Surveillance System using a Space-based ADS-B network that makes possible to extend the visibility across the entire planet.

DANUBE FAB at the World ATM Congress 2018

DANUBE FAB had another excellent representation at World ATM Congress in Madrid at its sixth edition in March 2018 as a part of the world’s largest international air traffic management (ATM) exhibition and conference. During the three-day event DANUBE FAB gave the visitors the opportunity to learn more about its current operations and hosted debates on a wide variety of topics, from competence in ATM to cyber security, addressing the current and future challenges within the ATM domain.

Thirteenth DANUBE FAB Social Consultation Forum, Sinaia, Romania / 15 February 2018

The thirteenth DANUBE FAB Social Consultation Forum (SCF) was held in Sinaia, Romania on 15 February 2018. The meeting between BULATSA and ROMATSA social partners and management representatives was focused on recent developments in the EU ATM, joint activities and related social aspects. These regular consultations provide a good mechanism for common understanding, collaboration and trust for the benefit of operational and technical progress in both ANSPs.

InterFAB Performance Workshop hosted by DANUBE FAB

DANUBE FAB hosted the first InterFAB Performance Workshop in Sofia on 31 January and 1 February 2018. The workshop was attended by representatives of FABCE, FABEC, Baltic FAB and BLUE MED FAB, as well as delegates from the Republic of Macedonia as observers to DANUBE FAB.
