DANUBE FAB at Airspace World 2025
DANUBE FAB returns to the global stage at Airspace World 2025
13–15 May 2025 | Lisbon, Portugal
Stand H2860 | Altice Arena & FIL
DANUBE FAB will proudly participate in Airspace World 2025, taking place between 13 and 15 May in Lisbon, Portugal. As a long-standing operational partnership between ROMATSA and BULATSA, DANUBE FAB will showcase its contributions to a more integrated, efficient, and sustainable European airspace. The stand, located at H2860, will serve as a meeting point for industry stakeholders, policymakers, and operational experts interested in air traffic management innovation, cross-border cooperation, and the future of the Digital European Sky.
Throughout the three days of the event, DANUBE FAB will showcase its strategic vision and key achievements across several critical domains: trajectory-based operations, resilient capacity, sustainable air traffic management (ATM), and the interdependencies that drive performance. Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about how DANUBE FAB supports the implementation of SESAR solutions across the region. They will also be able to discover how the FAB supports day-to-day operational activities that contribute to the stability and efficiency of the European ATM network, including the seamless coordination between the control centres in Sofia and Bucharest, network-wide responses during crisis situations, and the practical application of digital tools in live operational environments.
In addition to the main stand activities, DANUBE FAB representatives will take part in high-level discussions such as the panel debate on innovation for sustainability in ATM. The session will bring together key European stakeholders to explore the link between digitalisation, performance objectives, and climate-neutral aviation, providing an opportunity to highlight DANUBE FAB’s commitment to supporting the SESAR vision and contributing to European ATM transformation.
By participating in Airspace World 2025, DANUBE FAB reaffirms its role as an active contributor to the future of European airspace. With a forward-looking and cooperative approach, the FAB continues to deliver next-generation ATM solutions that support environmental goals, enhance operational performance, and strengthen cross-border resilience at the core of Europe’s air traffic management landscape.
Note for editors:
DANUBE FAB is a functional airspace block that has been established between the Republic of Bulgaria and Romania. It comprises of two air navigation service providers: the Bulgarian Air Traffic Services Authority (BULATSA) and the Romanian Air Traffic Services Administration (ROMATSA). DANUBE FAB plays an important role in the Single European Sky (SES) legislative framework, which aims to enhance the capacity of air traffic services across Europe. The SES framework prescribes a range of measures to ensure that there is enough capacity to service flights over Europe.
