Twenty second Meetings of the DANUBE FAB Governing Bodies
On Monday, May 13th and Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, the governing bodies of DANUBE FAB met in Sofia for their 22nd meeting. This meeting was held in the context of the constantly evolving aviation industry, which is facing increasing demands in the region. The attendees shared a commitment to making the skies safer, more efficient, and greener.
As the aviation industry faces an ever-evolving landscape with increasing demands in the region, with a shared vision for safer, more efficient skies and a commitment to sustainability, Tuesday, October 24th and Wednesday, 25th October 2023, the DANUBE FAB Governing Bodies met in Bucharest for their 21st meetings.
BALTIC FAB, DANUBE FAB, FAB CE and FABEC ANSPs signed Joint Declaration on AIM
Air Navigation Service Providers from Baltic FAB, DANUBE FAB, Functional Airspace Block Central Europe (FAB CE) and Functional Airspace Block Europe Central (FABEC) today signed a Joint Declaration to deepen InterFAB cooperation in the domain of Aeronautical Information Mangement (AIM). The declaration was signed during the on-line workshop on “Digitalisation – challenging and enabling future AIM” which brought together approximately 100 experts from all over Europe on 2-3 November 2020.
Fifteenth Meeting of the DANUBE FAB Governing Bodies
DANUBE FAB Governing Bodies held their fifteenth meetings on 28th and 29th of October via web conferences. The meetings were attended by representatives of the Ministries of Transport, Civil and Military Aviation Authorities, National Supervisory Authorities and ANSPs from Romania and from the Republic of Bulgaria, as well as from the DANUBE FAB Observers, Republic of North Macedonia and Republic of Moldova .
DANUBE FAB panel debate at World ATM Congress 2019 on FABs participation in SESAR projects
Hosted by DANUBE FAB and moderated by Helios Director Mr James Hanson, the debate focussed on the challenges and opportunities in evolving the role of FABs. The FAB representatives were united in their desire to further develop the FAB concept; believing firmly that there is a place for FABs in the delivery of the future European Airspace architecture.
DANUBE FAB representatives from the Romanian and Bulgarian NSAs, ROMATSA and BULATSA met with representatives from the Single European Sky Unit within DG MOVE on 10th December in Brussels for bilateral discussions on institutional and operational arrangements, current initiatives and previous successes contributing to the capacity and efficiency of the ATM network.
Starting from 6th of December 2018 Slovakia has joined the SEEN FRA (South East Europe Night Free Route Airspace) initiative of 3 ANSPs, namely BULATSA, HUNGAROCONTROL and ROMATSA, allowing the Aircraft Operators to plan their flights freely across the airspace of 4 states - Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and Slovakia - without the limitations given by the geographical borders. SEEN FRA itself is a specific volume of the European airspace where the Aircraft Operators are allowed to file their flight plans without the obligation to follow prescribed ATS routes during the night times from the midnight until 0600 a.m. local time.
Synchronized Implementation Workshop on Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373
DANUBE FAB partners organized a workshop on the synchronized implementation of Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2017/373 of 1 March 2017 laying down common requirements for providers of air traffic management/air navigation services and other air traffic management network functions and their oversight, repealing Regulation (EC) No 482/2008, Implementing Regulations (EU) No 1034/2011, (EU) No 1035/2011 and (EU) 2016/1377 and amending Regulation (EU) No 677/2011. The workshop was hosted by BULATSA on 1-3 October 2018 in Sofia, Bulgaria.
InterFAB Performance Workshop hosted by DANUBE FAB
DANUBE FAB hosted the first InterFAB Performance Workshop in Sofia on 31 January and 1 February 2018. The workshop was attended by representatives of FABCE, FABEC, Baltic FAB and BLUE MED FAB, as well as delegates from the Republic of Macedonia as observers to DANUBE FAB.
